Assist in supporting all computer operating systems, Windows and UNIX. Assist in the administration of non-SAP applications, data file structures and directories, building, racking and loading servers. Assist in the support of virtual infrastructure including servers, storage and associated toolsets. Assist in the maintenance and upgrading of servers. Participate in and support monitoring and troubleshooting system performance. Perform system hardware/software maintenance through trend analysis, capacity planning a performance tuning to ensure system integrity and security, and to provide optimum speed, capacity and responsiveness. Participate in or support the configuration, implementation and maintenance of servers, virtual environments, system software, system software, system upgrades and software patches by installing and testing new hardware and software and updating system configuration documentation. Support the testing and implementation of all operating system upgrades for all platforms and support the testing and implementation of all operating system upgrades for all platforms. Support troubleshooting problems reported by users and by automated computing platform and hardware monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future computing platforms, servers and networks. Ensure that all the computers in the network are up and running and safe from viruses. Participate in the configuration and security for local and remote users, upgrades and third party software. Gather information to design computer systems and platforms as well as to choose the software to aide clients with their business processes. Configure, troubleshoot problems, and support non-SAP applications. Participate with business analysts and business areas in planning upgrades and expanding application functionality.

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience. Typically has 2 to 5 years of experience in systems administration. Must acquire one technical certification (e.g. Microsoft Network Administrator or System Engineer) or equivalent. Must have basic knowledge of/skills in the content area of storage area network components and authorizations at operating system, active directory and network level, database administration, configure of operating systems and server hardware and project planning, assign non-SAP applications and application integration with operating system, storage database and peripherals. Must have basic ability to apply current technologies to the resolution of some business issues. Knowledge of technical fundamentals and can develop knowledge and understand the context in which solutions are being developed.
