Systems Administrator (Job Number: 318414)
POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will perform systems engineering services in support of software development associated with Human Language Technology applications under supervision of Program Manager that may include the following duties: engineering studies and analysis, technology planning, system architecture development, requirement development and analysis, concept of operations development, system design, active participation in the software development lifecycle , perform software testing and evaluation of delivered systems, review edit and or develop systems documentation, and perform other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in all phases of Software Lifecycle development and support Division business development need: -Performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems. -Definition of requirements and allocation of functions conduction of systems requirements reviews. -Definition of architecture, technical/non-technical assessments, and end-to-end flow analysis. -Install operate troubleshoot Talk2Me, Develop and Update all System Requirements Documents, system testing, develop user training material, Support C&A tasks, train users, track all issues, work as level 1 Software Support and resolve issues. –This is hands on engineering position candidate must be comfortable installing Windows OS, installing MSSQL and configuring systems to a network with limited outside support
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree and 5 to 10yrs systems engineering experience, 4 to 6 yrs in systems engineering specific (a combination of years of experience, education, certifications and training will be considered in lieu of a degree). Demonstrated expertise identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements. Ability to assist customer in expressing their needs in terms that can be used to generate valid requirements. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with all members of project, engineering teams, the customer and the end user community.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Government/Military and or Gov/Military clients
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 5+ years of operating systems experience. Viewed as a well-developed technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignment.
