Familiarity with DISA STIGs Specific Job Description The Systems Engineer Stf - Configuration Management (CM) Manager is a dual hat role. The Systems Engineer role will entail responsibility for baseline images in a virtual environment, ensuring that environments for testing are setup, configured properly and maintained. Will be responsble for maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network and other system administrators. Duties may include installing and configuring systems, setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. The CM Manger is responsible for direction, implementation, and control of Configuration Management for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Integration, Test, and Experimentation Center (DITEC). The CM manager will be responsible for implementing a Configuration Management Plan and a Configuration Management Database using industry standard best practices. The CM Manager will also perform System Engineering tasks in Windows Server 2003/2008 environments such as completing DISA STIG checklists, installing, configuring, and testing various systems/solutions for DITEC customers. The CM Manager will enhance and maintain the CM infrastructure (processes and tools) that will further ensure the principles of Configuration Identification, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Control, and Configuration Audits are performed in a manner to continuously meet company and contractual requirements. The CM Manager will further ensure the integrity of products by providing hands-on and oversight leadership to personnel including ownership of Configuration Change Boards (CCBs), hardware and software verifications efforts, problem/change reporting (PR/CR), CM metric reporting, documentation/media control, engineering change proposals, and waivers. Other CM manger responsibilities include: maintaining the CM master project schedule, developing and maintaining a CM training plan; chair the CM Working Group and participate in other working groups; coordinate and conduct configuration audits; enter and maintain Configuration Items (CI) including all data associated with each Configuration Item into the Configuration Management Database; review and assess all system change requests (CR) / engineering change proposal (ECP) ; update all configuration item related data to ensure accurate configuration status accounting of the production baseline; interfacing with program management, QA program management, engineering and others to ensure customer satisfaction; establishing priorities and coordinating assets (people, processes, tools) to ensure program schedules and requirements are met. Working knowledge of CMMI, ISO/AS9100, Lean/6-Sigma, ITIL principles are preferred.
