Performs difficult technical and professional work overseeing systems administration to provide efficient computer system operation by establishing system management criteria; Work is performed under the general supervision of the Information Technology Director and the Application Support Supervisor/Techncial Support Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions*:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computer, copy machines, etc., and the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects or items customary and reasonable in an office environment; Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve standing or walking during some periods. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. Worker is subject to no adverse environmental conditions.

Performs provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure; Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure; Performs daily system administration and monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Reviews audit logs and tracks system performance and activity; Performs feasibility analysis and develops project plans; Maintains software to ensure the efficiency of the operating systems; Ensures the design of the computer site allows all the components to fit together and work properly; Gathers data to identify needs in order to interpret and evaluate system and network requirements; Provides day-to-day onsite administrative support for software users; Troubleshoots problems reported by users and makes recommendations for enhancements to the servers and networks; Coordinates and controls system tuning and hardware integration; Analyzes system malfunctions and develops plans to address unsatisfactory occurrences; Manages user administration, creates, updates and deletes user ids as necessary, compares system configuration files against a baseline for changes; Reports to work on assigned duty schedule; Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.

Reviews new application software run procedures; Keeps abreast of operational changes; Maintains accurate and up to date trouble reports; Monitors daily utilization of network resources.

Typical Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of system hardware and software; Thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of personal computers and peripheral equipment; thorough knowledge of personal computer software systems and their capabilities; thorough knowledge of Windows server administration, active directory and Windows operating systems ; thorough knowledge in storage and backup systems and how the integrate with current infrastructure components; thorough knowledge of general office practices and equipment; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to analyze software programs and program adjustments; ability to train users on office automation hardware and software systems; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staffs of user departments and associates

Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in information systems or a related field with considerable experience in active directory, server administration, virualization and storage; System Administration/System Engineer certification preferred.

Special License and Certificates:

Possession of a valid drivers license.
