The Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for ensuring that the business and technology systems of the company are running at optimal efficiency at all times. S/he provides technology support to the entire company as the first line of protection and detection of incidents, changes and alarms. The goal is to identify, isolate and resolve issues with the least amount of business impact in the least amount of time and facilitate proactive internal and external client communication.

Technology infrastructure management and design

Setup and maintain site to site VPNs
Maintain all network equipment (switches, routers, etc.) and wiring
Manage all servers on a systems level, from hardware through virtualization platform and core operating system components of virtual mach ines
Administer IP PBX and all telephones, both hard and soft
Setup failovers for servers and internet bandwidth
Window server administration

Set up brand new Active directory structure shared between multiple locations
Active Directory administration
Group Policy Objects administration
DHCP, DNS administration
WSUS setup and administration
Software licensing compliance

Catalog commercial software installed on all computers
Ensure installed software is properly licensed with supporting documents on file

Ensure firewall ACLs are setup properly using best practices
Ensure all computer and server software are up to date
Desktop support management oversight

Oversee computers deployment and equipment to users
Deploy and update necessary software on computers
Provide first line of support for all desktop, network and other peripheral issues
Escalate issues to third party software/service providers as necessary and follow up to ensure that they are being appropriately addressed and resolved
Oversee addition of new users on to IT resources
Maintain and oversee help desk/inventory management system
Catalog and inventory all issued equipment

5+ years of Systems Administration experience
Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
General LAN/WAN network management (QOS setup, managed switches, routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Windows 7, Window server (2003/2008) , MacOS
Documenting workflows and system configurations with Visio
Window server administration experience
Virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere 4+ preferred)
Linux operating systems (CentOS, FreeBSD), including Apache, MySQL
IP Telephony (SIP experience preferred)
Enterprise instant messaging applications (openfire a plus)
Firewall management (Sonicwall preferred)
Productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Centralized help desk/inventory management software (Spiceworks preferred)
Proficiency in SQL a plus (both MSSQL and MySQL)
Experience in remote management of computers
