Job Description

The role: Systems Administrator

As the Systems Administrator you will work with other System Admins and provide operational administration for a broad-base of hosted Microsoft products, such as Windows Active Directories, Exchange, SharePoint, and VMWare products supporting our cloud environment. You will be involved in storage and back-up solutions. You will also work with networking colleagues on implementing unified communications. Qualifications

The Responsibilities:
Our Sys Admin positions are responsible for designing, managing, maintaining and updating the company’s Active Directory environment, Exchange environment and SharePoint environment. This will include a comprehensive redesign of the current AD and migration to the current version operating under to Window’s Server 2008 R2, as well as implementing a solution that accommodates hosted solutions for customers.

Design and implement solutions for user and computer management using Microsoft Active Directory.
Administer 2008 Domain Controllers in a multi-forest Windows domain environment.
Assist in the day-to-day support, management and troubleshooting of a global, multi-forest Windows domain environment.
Manage the AD environment including Installs forest, domains and child domains, evaluate sites, subnets, and replicate before expanding a network.
Establish trust relationships between domains and between forests. Monitor status of all trust relationships to customer domains to ensure that they are functioning properly.
Monitor replication on all domain controllers to ensure Active Directory is replicating.
Administer Active Directory delegated permissions, object types, and Group Policy.
Troubleshoot network routing, TCP/IP subnets, network security and AD-related ports and protocols, DNS, DHCP and WINS.
Administration of client security including but not limited to client firewall, client antivirus and event analysis.
Implementation and operation of Microsoft’s SCCM and SCOM solutions.
Implementation and operation of Microsoft’s Exchange 2010 environment.
Participate in both Incident and Problem Management efforts.
Monitor AV signature and Microsoft security patch deployments.
Manage encryption of company’s laptops.
Coordinate and monitor Forefront eMail hygiene.
Implementation and monitoring of SharePoint 2010. Assist program areas with sites for various projects and activities.
Migration of file shares to SharePoint.
Establish archive and/or records retention solutions to coincide with company’s policies regarding documents and email.
Participate in Change Management Process.
Implement multi-tenant VMware environment.
Manage and monitor VM environment with VCenter and VCloud Director.
Assist with implementation and maintenance of Linux and Unix (AIX) hosts.

Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on, production experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, and/or SharePoint.
Two year degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team oriented environment.
Effective troubleshooting and creative problem solving ability.
Positive attitude and willingness to embrace the challenge of ambitious objectives.
Strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Desired:
Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on, production experience installing, configuring and supporting VMware environments.
Four year degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Microsoft certification(s), including: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Microsoft Certified Master (MCM), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), and/or Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA).
VMware certified professional (VCP).
Direct experience with Unix / Linux host administration.
Direct experience with enterprise storage and SAN administration.
Direct experience with enterprise back-up administration.
Experience working in a Managed Services environment, supporting multi-tenant production platforms.
