VIP is looking for Systems Administrator for a multi-year project with a Federal Client of ours. The work will be performed in our Alexandria, VA office.
The Systems Administrator shall administer and maintain the servers and equipment associated with the next generation customer data warehouse. The Administrator shall identify and correct software, performance, and implementation failures. The maintenance includes performing emergency repairs when immediate correction is necessary to continue user service; corrective work includes performing System Change Requests (SCRs) that reflect the requirements/specifications, as well as the update and maintenance of the required documentation as necessary. System operations and administration tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain project hardware and software to provide uninterrupted system operation of classified and unclassified implementations.
Maintain current software patch level and schedule and implement planned outages as required to maintain application and system software.
Maintain development, test, training, and production environments as directed by Customer for configuration management of different releases of the project application software.
Perform regular backup and recovery policies and procedures for project software and data to include off-site storage as required by Customer.
Support fail-over and off-site emergency backup server and data storage repository for Customer information stored on the host systems at Agency designated site or sites.
Provide routine and ad-hoc system usage reports as required by Customer.
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring.

- Hands on experience with cloudera and/or hadoop; LINUX, SSL Certificates; System patching and management; system backup strategies
- Secret clearance with ability to pass Agency specific background check
