The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission is seeking a qualified, energetic team-player to work as a Systems Analyst in the Project Management Office. The incumbent will define business needs for the betterment of productivity and efficiency for enterprise systems; develop functional and system design specifications; document requirements to assist development team in the understanding and creation of quality software products; work with business sponsors to determine the business justification for all IT related enhancements, fixes, and development needs; develop test scenarios for User Acceptance Testing; collaborate with Systems Analyst Supervisor and staff to establish and continually improve Project Management, Requirements Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Business Process Management standards for the Commission; research any reported problems (Production Support), plan and propose solutions to development and business teammates; coordinate the problem solving process and ensure that business standards and requirements are met to fulfill requested enhancements or issue resolution.
REQUIRES: Associate's Degree or 4-year BA/BS related to IT field or equivalent in training and/or experience. Thorough knowledge of requirements analysis, quality assurance, and business process management methodologies. Familiarity with the following industry standard Systems Analyst tasks: SDLC processes, screen mock-ups, process flow creation, swimlanes, requirements traceability, and functional and technical requirements.
Strong stakeholder engagement, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to effectively manage resources. Ability to identify, collect, organize, and present pertinent performance metrics to monitor and achieve organizational goals. Ability to plan and execute detailed projects. Ability to perform detailed, structured analysis of complex, technical issues, and to communicate findings in layman's terms to stakeholders. Significant experience collecting and documenting user and functional requirements in a collaborative and technical environment. Experience with multiple project management methodologies including Waterfall, RUP, and Agile. Experience defining and using business management best practices and requirements documentation. Experience drafting, executing, and interpreting MS SQL queries and results.
Preferred Certifications include: (IIBA) Certification of Competency in Business Analysis or (IIBA) Certified Business Analysis Professional.
Must pass criminal background check.
