Key Responsibilities:
Meets users from other departments to identify their needs
Assists in Windows Domain management and Domain application implementations
Provides explanation of technical matters to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion
Identifies, inquires, researches, and uses independent judgment regarding problems that are difficult to identify or where facts may be insufficient and misleading
Assists users with problem resolution
Analyzes, designs, tests and implements Virtualization and SAN architecture
Analyzes, designs, tests and implements MS-SQL servers, databases, and applications
Gathers and thoroughly tests data to perform necessary analysis
Maintains confidentiality when working with sensitive data
Make decisions and recommendations of a broad nature in accordance with general policy and guidelines
Works under routine supervision where the supervisor occasionally reviews work to ensure completion
Develops test plans for all phases of system testing, acceptance testing and implementation
Documents and debugs problems alone and as a team member
Reviews priorities and assignments in a group setting
Coordinates projects with users for deadline requirements
Creates statistical reports for information purposes
Ability to get along with customers and co-workers

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with ten years experience in a computer science, business administration, or management information systems environment OR
Technical Accreditation and five years experience in a computer science, business administration, or management information systems environment OR
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, or management information systems and two years experience in a computer science, business administration, or management information systems environment
Additional Information:
Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license within 30 days of hire per state law)
Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
Must meet the Civilian Hiring Standards of the Denton Police Department
