Systems Engineer Pharmacy Team
Vidant Health EHR Willow module used at VMC, Edgecombe, Roanoke-Chowan, Chowan, Bertie, Outer Banks, Duplin, Beaufort and Pungo hospitals and VMG clinics
a) Build and maintain medications
b) Build and maintain billing information for medications
c) Build and maintain formularies
d) Build and maintain medication order sets
e) Build and maintain preference lists
f) Define, monitor and maintain medication cart fills
g) Define, monitor and maintain care areas and dispense logic (determine which pharmacy unit and/or equipment such as Pyxis will actually dispense the product and print out medication labels)
h) Design and maintain medication labels
i) Configuration of medication label printers
j) Configure lab results to appear on medication orders
k) Setup of e-prescribing
l) Develop, schedule and monitor batch processes for pharmacy (medication batch dispensing and downtime reporting)
m) Perform periodic updates of new medications using First Data Bank
n) Define and maintain Epic Rx security classes and Pharmacy department templates
o) Define, monitor and maintain interfaces between Vidant Health EHR and the following:
i) McKesson robot and carousel at VMC, RCH and Edgecombe
ii) CareFusion Pyxis medication stations at every hospital
2) Support Employee Pharmacy systems: QS1, AutoMed
3) Support Rx Works Inventory system and interface with General Ledger
4) Support AutoMed Packager and Carousel at VMC
5) The team also performs requirements gathering, gap analysis, design alternatives, build and testing.
AA/AS or equivalent experience required. 4-6 years total work experience required. Has knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain. Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise. Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education.
