We are currently in search for up to 3 Systems Engineers to work at our client site in Baltimore, MD. This will be a full-time employee position with Digicon Corporation.

Position Description :
The Systems Engiener will provide specialized infrastructure management and support for a large Municipality. This includes a 150+ building campus area with two data centers, a primarily Microsoft server environment but growing Linux base, and also a developing cloud infrastructure.

The Systems Engineer will work with the current IT and business staff to analyze problems, create resolutions/remedies to problems. A successful candidate will either specialize in some of the listed areas or have experience managing many of the responsibilities below:

Experience working in an enterprise IT environment.

Understand and troubleshoot basic server hardware on various platforms from standalone models to racked blade server hardware.

Install Microsoft Windows servers 2003 to 2012 using traditional, scripted and cloned methods.

Use scripting languages like PowerShell to perform tasks quickly.

Maintain Windows servers using patch management and change control procedures.

Support Windows servers’ software utilizing very strong troubleshooting skills with native and 3rd party tools.

Design, implement and manage services, roles and features such as DNS, DHCP and Group Policies.

Understand Active Directory and be able to work with and manipulate directory objects, organizational units, etc. in a safe manner and make recommendations.

Have a strong grasp of Windows security ACLs.

Design, set up, configure, and manage a VMWare ESXi and vSphere environment.

Provide systems administration of a Microsoft SQL clustered and non-clustered environment, using Microsoft best practices, including basic troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance plan configuration.

Install, configure, troubleshoot and perform day to day tasks with Backup Exec (or comparable).

Configure and administer 3Par and/or Dell Compellent SAN solutions (or comparable), including LUN management, SAN switch zoning, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of SAN replication technologies is preferred.

Management of enterprise security software, including patch management administration and antivirus software deployments/configuration.

Configure and maintain server/systems monitoring tools such as ipMonitor, Dell OpenManage, HP Systems Insight Manager, solarwinds, nagios, system center, etc.

Manage and maintain Blackberry Enterprise Server / Blackberry device configuration.

Ability to properly install, rack, and maintain server room equipment per standards, such as server racks, rack Universal Power Supplies, servers, switches, and appliances.

Set up, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot basic LAN and WAN connectivity (limited).

Position Requirements :
3+ years of experience in systems engineering with a Microsoft Server environment and at least 1 year of experience in analytical problem solving of workflow, organization, and planning.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or 3 years of equivalent experience in a related field. A Master’s Degree in one of the above disciplines equals 1 year specialized and 2 years general experience.

Excellent written and communication skills.

MCSE/MCITP preferred.

Experience with VDI environments is a plus.

Ability to write scripts is a plus.

Linux experience is a plus.
