Specific Job Description
Support classified System Engineering Integration efforts in the Command and Control (C2) Systems business area. The Command and Control Systems business area supports multiple programs and additional study and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) efforts. Command and Control Systems develops highly reliable shelterized and fixed facility systems. These systems demand integration of high-end Commerical-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and custom hardware, interfacing to complex communications systems, and support demanding environmental conditions in fixed-facility and transportable configurations.

This position is for a Systems integration engineer responsible for integrating Windows based systems with both software and hardware components, Unix based systems, and the capability of integrating network components to work with the system. The candidate must have a comprehensive background in systems and subsystems integration and testing. Duties may include hardware assembly, software installation and verification, image installation on workstations and servers, troubleshooting, integration of COTS material, windows administration and service account maintains, as well as network device setup, configuration, and verification. In addition, strong documentation of procedures and best practices is desired. The candidate will be part of the Platform Engineering team and will be responsible for systems integration and verification across multiple baselined systems in an operational environment as well as a development and lab environment.

Must be an independent thinker, self motivated, self-starter, and works with limited supervision in order to keep pace with the fast pace environment. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing software and equipment, testing procedures. Must be willing to establish, update and follow lab procedures. Willing to work overtime as required, and provide scheduled pager support (if required). Willing to learn new technologies, be flexible in order to support various roles within the Integration and Test section and provide recommendation for system architectures configuration as needed/required. The candidate must have outstanding people and analytical skills.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that do not perform IT responsibilities, use E146, Systems Engineer.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
