Be responsible for the availability, reliability, and operations of our systems
Provide technical expertise on the numerous technologies we are using (hardware, SAN, OSes, software stacks, databases, monitoring, configuration management)
Work within the Operations team to ensure 24x7 availability and response within our SLA requirements & provide timely incident resolution
Be responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment
Support Lyris operations, application deployment, Provide expert guidance in design maintenance and documentation of production, engineering, and QA environment using various commercial and open source tools
Work closely with production systems and application owners to provide best practice end-to-end monitoring, systems-management
Architect and implement solutions for production / staging system environments
Handle escalated trouble calls and work closely with engineering, customer support, QA and infrastructure teams to resolve service issues
Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble-ticketing system
Rotational 24x7 On-Call Support Requirements
4+ years working in a similar hands-on position responsible for systems and/or network design and maintenance, ideally in a SaaS environment.
Strong verbal and written communications and organizational skills and the ability to work well with other departments and varying levels of Management
Experience with monitoring systems, including custom check specification/development Hadoop, HBase, Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Debian), bash, bash scripting, OpenVPN, Nagios, rsync, AWS, S3, DNS, DHCP, NTP, YUM, HAProxy, F5, Heartbeat, Chukwa, Apache, syslog ( syslog-ng), Python, Django, Nginx, Node.js, Redis, Tomcat, Wordpress, SSH, SCP
Experience supporting various application stacks on various versions of Linux. JAVA Application Server and Message Queue server experience a plus
Experience SAN and NAS storage foundations
Experience with Scripting language Advanced knowledge in Database Administration, Storage Management, Backup & Recovery, Performance Monitoring, Tuning, Database Integrity & Security
Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously
Experience with administering, configuring, and troubleshooting multi-tiered production environments
Strong sense of operations and customer support
Experience with ongoing support for Business Continuity and High Availability
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent)
Knowledge of computer networking essentials
