ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other work-related duties may be assigned.
Responsible for engineering, deploying, and administrating infrastructure solutions (hardware and software) for servers and voice and data networks, including the following tasks:
Assist and or leads in the installation of server and network hardware and software that is critical in nature; or, if required, leads in identifying and communicating needs and installs new server/network hardware/software.
Perform performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning to maintain optimal performance.
Support operations with system administration and maintenance, data backup and recovery, security administration, systems repairs, and configuration changes.
Perform testing and integration to ensure that all software and hardware operate properly together.
Become familiar with hardware/software applications used in house, which they are responsible for deploying and supporting.
Conduct software roll-outs of both commercial and internally developed applications that may be complex and critical in nature.
Recommend standards, policies and procedures for the specification, design, implementation, operation, support and documentation of server/network environment.
Provide complex technical support to system infrastructure. Resolve problems and manage incidents at a server/network level.
Monitor access to the network by addressing issues of data security and file access at the service level.
Identify and resolve security issues.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of all infrastructure configurations and their functions
Remain current on technology and industry trends affecting thebusiness and make recommendations for system improvements accordingly.
Proactively pursue increased knowledge (business and technical) and responsibility.
Identify tasks necessary to achieve project goals and provide work effort estimates.
Write purchase justifications, make effective presentations to professional peers, and work positively with upper management.
Mentor/train other team members.
Experience - Candidates must have 4+ years experience in a system administration or system engineering role in a Microsoft environment.
Candidate must have advanced knowledge and hands-on administration experience with the following technologies:
Microsoft Windows Server 2008
Microsoft Windows 7
Microsoft Active Directory
Server virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V and SCVMM preferred)
Microsoft Exchange 2010
SAN (Netapp preferred)
Additionally, experience with several of the following technologies is highly desirable:

Microsoft IIS 6.0
Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and 2010
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
