The Space Systems Business Area develops high performance, innovative components and systems that are changing how we reach, explore, and utilize space. Our capabilities range from spacecraft actuators that power the Mars rovers, to hybrid rocket technologies that powered the first commercial astronaut to space, and from microsatellites controlled by the Internet to Dream Chaser®, a winged and piloted orbital commercial spacecraft. SNC's Space Systems products innovate, enable and perform. Currently due to our fast growth we are looking for a Systems Engineer.
The Dream Chaser Program seeks an experienced systems engineer to support the development of the integrated vehicle design, testing and verification, and eventual operations of the spacecraft. This position requires coordination with vehicle subsystems and with external partners and customers to plan and execute critical program reviews and flight tests. Responsibilities include:
Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements. This includes generation of Engineering Program Plans (EPPs) in accordance with the Technical Management and Planning (TMAP) process, part of SNC's Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP).
Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, develop system test and evaluation methology, test procedures, and reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities.
Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews.
Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Provide estimates of labor hours and material dollars required to accomplish design and development activities.
Direct/lead the technical activities of other program engineers.
Perform other duties as required by Program Manager.

Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management
BS/BA minimum in related technical field
Excellent communication skills required
Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
Previous experience and skills in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test
Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, face-paced environment with emphasizes in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
