  • Maintaining and deploying core platform components such as Ruby on Rails applications, Nginx, MySQL, Redis, Postfix servers and more
  • Distilling down extremely complex ecosystems to create supportable, elegant, and resiliant solutions
  • Writing, pushing, reviewing, testing, and deploying code on a daily basis
  • Architecting web, mobile, and API services for extreme scale, performance and availability
  • Making high level platform decisions that allow for flexible and reusable code
  • Having the ability to change gears and adapt quickly under pressure

  • At least 4 years of Unix systems administration experience
  • 2+ years of Ruby software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of deployment experience
  • At least 1 year of administering public SMTP mail servers
  • You have skill automating software installation and administration of all descriptions on remote servers
  • You have a knack for troubleshooting and can create effective, enduring solutions
  • You're a quick learner (ask a few questions, self-taught)
  • You enjoy writing elegant code to deploy applications (we use mostly Ruby, Capistrano, Chef, and Bash scripting)
  • Experience with web development, software design patterns, and can write readable, maintainable code
  • Experience with infrastructure at scale with high performance and high availability
  • You take pride in your work and care about the resulting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
