USC's University Advancement - Operation Services department is seeking a Business/System Analyst IV to join its team. The incumbent will work within University Advancement to support and address the business units' short term and on-going information needs. This position also serves as a liaison to the user community, understanding the needs of customer operations and how systems are used in support of their operations. Required Skills: a quick learner and team player strong communication skills able to understand relevant business processes a self-starter who is able to plan, coordinate and complete jobs from start to finish. able to complete production-oriented projects quickly and efficiently, with the capacity to prioritize work, meet strict deadlines, and have a strong attention to detail. comfortable with being responsible for simple to medium level complexity projects and serve as the lead in larger systems projects. Required Experience: familiarity with relational databases able to work with managers, programmers, and other clients to define and develop reports including but not limited to, lists, tables, graphs as well as system modification designs and other deliverables which enable the success of USC fundraising. familiarity with financial accounting and reporting principles is desirable but not required. able to research and evaluate alternative solutions and makes recommendations. able to work with users to prepare detailed specifications to support complex business processes. Job Expectations: analyze, document, and test custom reports and system modifications according to business requirements. work with users to develop and execute user acceptance test plans. develop and maintain documentation of end user processes and procedures. conduct end user training classes. answer help-desk calls, providing high-quality assistance to CRS users. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree Combined work experience and education as equivalent

Minimum Experience:
5 years

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Understanding and strong technical knowledge of and experience with computer science and operating systems.

Preferred Field of Expertise:
  • Must be familiar with relational databases, and be able to work with the department's managers, programmers, and clients to define and develop reports including but not limited to, lists, tables, graphs as well as system modification designs and other deliverables which enable the success of USC fundraising. * Some familiarity with financial accounting and reporting principles is desirable but not required. Desired skills include: * Strong analytical and communication skills. * Ability to lead discussions to clearly understand business issues and develop solutions. * Strong attention to detail * Ability to multitask effectively * Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues as well as communicate with functional users effectively. * Ability to independently manage small to medium level projects
