We have an opening for a talented individual to join our Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Group as a Systems Specialist. Our group supports in vitro characterization of both small molecule and therapeutic antibody drug candidates across all therapeutic areas and for the full spectrum of drug discovery, from sample management to high-throughput screening, characterization and optimization using biochemical and cellular quantitative assays, to filing of IND’s. The successful candidate will be working closely with the members of the Antibody Engineering, Protein Chemistry, Structural Biology, Informatics, and Sample Management groups. This individual will be responsible for helping to strengthen our informatics platform and for the stewardship of the incoming and outgoing registration and results information of our biologics platform.

The candidate will work closely with the Bioinformatics group and contractors to setup data transfer procedures for new collaborations, partnerships and in-licensing opportunities. The individual will be instrumental in the registration of incoming biological data from external partners using Genentech’s guidelines. These tasks will include defining and adhering to data submission guidelines with current 3rd party agreements, standardizing new 3rd party agreements, and maintaining key relationships with the external parties. The individual will be expected to use internal tools, inventory software (Mosaictm), and Oracle related tools to communicate information with Genentech’s internal and external customers.

Close collaboration with all functions in Protein Sciences in the biologics drug discovery program will be essential for success.*LI-gred-NNWho You AreA BS in Biochemistry, Physics, Molecular Biology. Candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience with Registration of Biological Reagents, Sample Management, and Oracle SQL. The candidate will have knowledge of basic scientific principles, attention to detail, good organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
