General Function:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Services, the System Specialist for the division of EMSS, facilitates, supports and coordinates information technology projects for the division, which includes the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, International Students, Academic Advisement Center, Educational Opportunity Program, Residential Life, Student Health Services, Counseling, Disability Services, Athletics and Recreation, and Student Life.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as liaison between the division of Enrollment Management and Student Success and the Information Technology division for all information technology issues. Represent EMSS on college-wide committees regarding the implementation and upgrade of information systems, such as Banner, Degree Works, Simplicity/Advocate, FS Atlas, Customer Relations Management System (CRM) and others. Become an expert in EMSS technology applications.

Work with EMSS directors to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements via the use of technology; oversee the development of specifications and requirements and the implementation of new and redesigned systems, reports, and procedures for EMSS to ensure efficient business processes.

Research new technologies and maintain knowledge of trends and innovative strategies in technology fields relating to systems supporting EMSS.

Work closely with the Director of Institutional Research to develop and enforce data standards and to ensure data integrity for all student systems.

Coordinate technical staff in departments across the division to ensure that college priorities are accomplished and that best practices are achieved.

Minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years experience as a technology specialist or similar role. A Master’s degree in a field related to higher education with technology experience in higher education is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of enrollment management and student services processes, systems and terminology is required. Proficiency in Banner is preferred. Experience with workflow, E-Visions, Banner Document Management Suite, Web Tailor, Luminis Channels, Hyperion Reporting, Microsoft Office, Access (or other database software) and digital imaging systems preferred. Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external constituents is essential.

Salary/Schedule: 96/0 ($72,391)

35 hours a week
