GE Heat Recovery Solutions, a world leader in the development and manufacture of organic Rankine cycle power plants, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Systems and Controls Engineer at our facility in Cerritos, CA. Candidate will participate in our product design team, who are changing the power generation industry with our industry-leading technology and distributed power solutions.
The candidate should have a broad range of experience and skills in the area of power generation. In addition, you will:
Plan, direct, and manage product design and improvement projects at the systems level in a multi-discipline engineering team environment; ensuring engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies and objectives
Propose, negotiate, and define system architecture solutions for the product requirements
Direct and coordinate system level modeling in tools like Simulink, Aspen Plus, etc. for steady state and transient design predictions and test validation
Write and manage the functional requirements and distribution for the system
Coordinate the component design development that meets the system requirements
Coordinate the development of the assembly, test, installation, and maintenance plans
Define and lead the system level validation plans and data analysis
Coordinate control logic development and integration
Be responsible for programming and version control of PLC and HMI logic and software
Support fielded product validation efforts and root cause corrective actions for field issues
BSME, BSEE, or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience
Minimum of 3 years in power systems and PLC programming
Knowledge of regulatory agency (CE, UL, etc.) impacts to power system and controls design
Ability and willingness to travel as required

Experience in turbo machinery design
Ability to operate efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
Technical knowledge of electrical circuits and components
Technical knowledge of part and assembly drawings
Ability to read and define P&IDs and electrical 3 line schematics
Proficient in PLC Programming, MODBUS POLL, HMI, Micrologix 500, RSLogix
Knowledge of turbo machinery systems and controls
Knowledge of heat exchangers and pump systems
Familiarity with Material compatibility issues and solutions
Understanding of thermodynamic processes
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Customer / product applications support
