Responsible for planning and coordinating designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through field supervisors. Also responsible for working collaboratively with other members of the core team to achieve planned objectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates activities of project personnel including engineering, material purchase, and construction.
  • Identifies and manages changes to the scope of work, specifications and schedule.
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members on assigned work.
  • Interfaces with operating personnel, management, internal and external clients.
  • Participates in pre-design and pre-construction of proposed system improvements and expansions.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Monitors budget for construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Participates in setting goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for system maintenance and services.

  • Preferred Knowledge - Abilities & Skills

    Education/ Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Post graduate work in related area
    • 7 - 10 years experience in transmission and substation work in the electric utility industry.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Skills in Microsoft office and Project Management software.
    Licenses & Certifications 

    Valid Class C Texas driver's license

    Physical Tasks & Working Conditions

    The incumbent typically works in an office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards is possible while performing field work.

    Minimum Education & Work Experience 

    Bachelor’s Degree 
    Professional Engineer License 
    7 years related experience
    Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
