Perform duties of motor vehicle title examiner.
Process tag and title applications.
Respond to requests for information from the public in person and on the telephone.
Interact with the general public on a daily basis.
Determine the type of tag or decal to be sold and calculate the tax and fees to be charged.
Input required information into the online tag/title computer system.
Handle cash and accountable items.
Resolve or attempt to resolve problems regarding tag, title, or ad valorem taxes.
Obtain required information from customers to accurately register and title all types of vehicles.
Enforce legal requirements for vehicle emission testing, motor vehicle liability insurance, and possession of a valid
Georgia Driver's License.
Issue disabled person parking placards to qualified applicants.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED; supplemented by an experience that demonstrates general computer literacy and ability to perform the essential functions of the work; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
Must be bondable.
Skills testing is required for this position
; Passing scores (25th percentile) on the Data Entry skills test required (percentile ranks are based on national norms)
Two or more years of administrative support experience, including use of standard software programs; word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, email, and internet usage.
Frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; and lift and/or move up to 10 to 20 pounds.
