TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER

General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI) is comprised of five product lines involving different aspects of energy. One serves the petroleum and chemical industries, two focus on the nuclear/radiation monitoring industry, and two provide high power systems and components. The common thread of our systems technology is the design, development, and manufacture of secure and highly reliable microprocessor/PC-based control and information handling systems.
We are looking for someone with the skill set, creativity and desire to commit to a career as a leading edge high voltage capacitor Technical Sales Engineer to support our Energy Products Division. These High Voltage capacitors range from 1kV to 2MV, they utilize a mixture of construction techniques. GA-ESI capacitors are known worldwide for their long life, reliability and high energy density and serve commercial, research and military markets.Â

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for technical and applications support to Capacitor Sales team. Represents the organization as a technical contact for select customers and acts as focal point for defining product requirements

Provide pre and post sales technical support with timely resolutions of customer service issues

Introduces products to customers and promote company product capability

Provide input on product provisioning, order forecast and future product requirements based on customer feedback and industry trends

Work with engineering and sales teams on pricing models for non price list products

When necessary conducts customer visits and participate in marketing presentations

Support Sales team at tradeshows or outside events

Provide customer's training and assist customers in design and application recommendations

Where applicable, provide customer feedback on projects and communicate progress to customers
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company

Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Typically requires a Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD in Engineering or related technical field and progressively complex engineering experience as follows; four or more years experience with a Bachelors degree and two or more years experience with a Masters degree

May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education

Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties

Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems

Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks. Able to work extended hours as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with high voltage capacitors

Preferred Degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience should demonstrate solid and broadened application of electrical and electronics concepts, principles and theories within a customer service environment

The ideal candidate would have the ability to organize and coordinate work phases, to enable effective communication with the customer

Candidate should possess the ability to understand, communicate and apply new concepts quickly

Work independently or on a team and to provide or coordinate solutions to a range of customer problems

Work extended hours as required and have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal that enable effective interface with inter-organizational staff and outside customers
