Department: Critical Care Nursing
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of experience required
Assists in orientation of new telemetry techs -
Assists with clerical tasks including, but not limited to, answering telephones in a
Prompt courteous manner, placing lab results in patient charts, completing patient
Charts for disposition, and other tasks as assigned
Communicates effectively regarding telemetry function of the unit. Notifies appropriate
Staff of any significant change in rate and rhythm. Records changes for all patients
Being monitored. Contacts staff when rhythm is not on screen.
Coordinates keeping telemetry equipment in functional order. Notifies biomedical
Engineer of equipment requiring repairs. Maintains stock of equipment and supplies.
Charges batteries as required.
Documents and correctly identifies all patients being monitored. Complete rhythm strip
And places in patient record as required.
High school Diploma or Equivalent required
Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
Completes basic dysrhythmia course with an acceptable score during orientation. Complete an annual
Recertification course in basic dysrhythmia with an acceptable score.

Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, patients and family members
Able to handle stressful situations and make decisions in a timely manner
Able to professionally and effectively communicate (orally and in writing).

Demonstrates compliance with hospital dress code.
