Available October 2012 through December 2012 with the possibility of extension past December.

On Call – Flexible work schedule.

Some weekend work required.

JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for driving the Mobile Go Center in the Beaumont and surrounding areas.

Travel extensively via automobile and able to drive a three-quarter or one ton pickup truck that is towing a 42 foot trailer with Gross Trailer Weight of 15, 000 pounds.

Upon arrival and before use of the Cardinal Express by visitors: disconnects, secures, and levels trailer: connects electrical outlets or sets up generator, unpacks and sets up tables, establishes satellite link, and computer equipment for use. After events, shuts down and repacks equipment and power sources prior to connecting the truck and trailer. Ensures security system is used as appropriate.

Maintains vehicle and trailer maintenance and repair logs and schedules standard maintenance and repairs with minimal downtime of the Cardinal Express.

Perform related duties as necessary and or assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED : general supervision given. Proceeds alone following standard practices and procedures. Questionable cases may be referred when they arise outside of standard practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a valid Texas driver’s license, be insurable and have dependable transportation.

Ability and willingness to travel and work independently within the Beaumont and surrounding areas which may include cities throughout the State of Texas and Louisiana.

Willingness to work evenings and some weekends.

Must have the ability to qualify for a university issued credit card.

Position requires driving and operating a university vehicle; therefore, a valid Texas driver license and driving record acceptable to the university’s insurance carrier is required.

Position requires individual to possess a “Class A “Texas Commercial Driver’s License. Alertness and careful attention to driving is required

The ability to drive a vehicle and lift boxes of recruitment materials (approximately 20 pounds).
