Under general supervision, performs professional-level student recruiting and admissions processing work of moderate difficulty. This position is responsible for representing Angelo State University to multiple constituencies, including prospective students and representatives. This position is a front-line service provider that has primary responsibility for assisting with the development and maintenance of community college articulation agreements, the recruitment of transfer students, maintenance of course equivalencies, making admissions decisions pertaining to transfer students, and developing and managing campus transfer events.
Provide exceptional customer service to all students and guests.
Possess generalist knowledge of the Angelo State University student experience and the ability to communicate that experience in a clear and concise manner.
Ensure all assigned prospective transfer students are aware of deadlines, application procedures, and financial aid eligibility.
Participate in potential recruiting opportunities and represent ASU at community college visits, college nights, open houses, and scheduled campus visits with partner institutions.
Serve as the internal operational liaison to colleagues at ASU regarding transfer student admission processes and procedures.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with specified community colleges.
Organize and assist with recruitment events targeting transfer students.
Assist with reviewing transfer student admissions application processes and the development and maintenance of documentation on all transfer student policies and procedures.
Assist with development and execution of articulation agreements and memorandums of understanding to facilitate the seamless transfer of students from various community colleges.
Research opportunities to collaborate with new and existing partner institutions to create degree specific agreements.
Review admissions applications and transfer courses to determine transfer student admissibility to Angelo State University.
Work with the Assistant Director of Admissions to ensure compliance on all federal and state laws that might impact transfer student admission.
Maintain knowledge of all transfer data and related technical processes in the Banner and CRM systems and utilize these systems to segment and identify candidates for follow-up.
Enter necessary information to create new institutions in database, build major transfer equivalencies in Banner, and contact academic departments when necessary for consultation on course equivalencies.
Work collaboratively with ASU colleagues on transfer student admission issues and concerns.
Counsel students regarding transferability of courses and rules pertaining to transfer credit.
Work collaboratively with the Admissions and IT staff when issues arise with technical systems that support transfer admissions.
Perform evaluation of transfer credits for potential athletes to assist the Athletic Department with determining NCAA eligibility.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff in all enrollment units at Angelo State University.

Display strong organizational skills.
Work cooperatively as part of a team with a variety of people including student, faculty, and administrators.
Experience in planning and organizing events.
Ability to speak publicly with small and large groups.
Working knowledge of Banner and related business processes associated with transfer students.
Familiarity with systems used to receive electronic transcripts, Transfer Evaluation System (TES), Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning (CAPP) or other degree auditing system and other technical systems used to support transfer students.
Familiarity with course equivalencies.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing; requires occasional walking, bending, and reaching; medium level manual dexterity needed; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Works in a pleasant, well-lighted temperature-controlled environment; frequent periods of heavy workload.
Bachelor's degree and/or two years' experience working directly with transfer students and/or transfer credit in a higher education setting. A blend of education and/or experience can be used to produce the ideal candidate.
Knowledge of Banner student information system.
Demonstrated understanding of course articulation/equivalency processes.
Preference is given to an individual who was a transfer student.
