Basic Function of Job
Prepare various Federal, Foreign, State and Local tax returns and workpapers. Conduct technical research and assist in the completion of the department's projects.
Major Duties/ Responsibilities of Position
•Prepare the information returns (i.e., Form 5471) of the Foreign Subsidiaries including calculations of Subpart F income and Earnings & Profits.
•Prepare and maintain foreign branch tax workpapers.
•Prepare quarterly tax accrual calculations which include loss reserve discounting and foreign income tax analysis.
•Prepare loss reserve discounting calculations for the federal income tax return.
•Coordinate payment of Expatriate tax advances and reconcile the accounts quarterly.
•Coordinate the various phases of the 1099 process.
•Prepare federal and state tax returns, extensions and estimates.
•Participate in special projects as they arise.
•Respond to inquiries/requests from internal/external customers.
•Assist in data gathering for IRS and state audits.
This position will report 50-percent to the Research and Planning supervisor and 50-percent to the Compliance supervisor.
Knowledge & Skills
•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
•Tax and/or Accounting experience of 2+ years
•Effective oral and written communication skills
•Excellent time management skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
