Western & Southern Financial Group has an immediate opportunity for a Tax Analyst.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Prepares corporate tax returns to comply with government regulatory requirements. Performs analysis/research on corporate tax accounting and tax planning issues and prepares documentation. Participates in developing analysis tools and works on special projects as needed. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to manager when necessary and updating manager on a regular basis.
•Performs day-to-day tax compliance responsibilities, identifying reporting issues and notifying appropriate personnel.
•Prepares quarterly and annual tax provisions for statutory and GAAP financial statement reporting, identifying tax accounting issues impacting the Company and notifying appropriate personnel.
•Provides financial analysis of selected tax accounting and reporting issues.
•Identifies and assists in implementing effective processes and procedures for completing and improving work.
•Assists management in identifying and developing analysis tools necessary to help manage the business.
•Stays current on tax developments that impact the Company and conducts research on issues affecting federal changes to accounting methods.
•Maintains working knowledge of current statutory and GAAP accounting principles.
•Participates in special projects.
•Performs other duties as assigned by management.
•Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local compliance and experience in preparing corporate tax returns. Cite examples that demonstrate knowledge and experience in this area.
•General knowledge of the functions of accounting, the underlying body of concepts that constitute accounting theory and the application of those concepts to accounting problems and situations.
•Demonstrated successful experience in problem-solving situations.
•Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to internal and external customers at various levels in a clear, focused and concise manner.
•Proven experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis.

•Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or Bachelor's degree with commensurate selection criteria experience in the accounting field.
Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:
•Proficient in the use of tax preparation software.
•Proficient in use and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications.
Certifications & licenses (i.e. Series 6 & 63, CPA, etc.):
•Certified public accountant with CPE requirement met or candidate pursuing CPA certification preferred.
•Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
