SCOPE OF POSITION:
Manage all income tax provision matters related to the Company’s financial statements, footnotes, and SEC filings. Manage the implementation and use of OneSource Tax Provision software. Facilitate the preparation of complete and accurate federal, state and foreign tax returns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take a lead role in providing technical expertise with regard to accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements. Identify process improvements, implement changes and ensure best practices. Facilitate the accurate and timely filing of corporate income/franchise tax returns. Assist with international income tax issues, including transfer pricing. Assist with mergers and acquisitions and other tax planning research projects as they arise. Mentor associates in the tax department. Maintain on-going communication with Tax Director and VP of Tax and Financial Reporting Function.

Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) and SOX requirements. Fundamental understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws. Strong accounting and analytic skills and ability to research and apply tax law to specific fact pattern. Able to exercise independent judgment with regard to the application of tax law to effectively minimize liabilities, risks and exposures.

One Direct Report Indirect Supervision
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. MS in Taxation and/or CPA is preferred.
Public accounting experience – Big 4 experience preferred – with emphasis on ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) and corporate compliance. 8+ years relevant work experience, including most recent 2 years managing associates.
Strong managerial and leadership skills with a hands-on approach. Strong analytical skills and ability to research effectively. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently. Must be able to prepare income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48). Must be able to prepare consolidated federal and state tax returns. Working knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax software is a plus. Experience with SEC filings is a plus. Diligent work ethic.
