The Governance, Risk & Compliance unit works with teams across Thomson Reuters to leverage the full capabilities of the business.
The principle objective of this role is to validate and implement the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Risk Management regulatory themes taxonomy, a metadata framework applicable to all financial services regulatory intelligence and news and analysis content in the ERM product suite. The successful candidate will be expected to validate a proprietary taxonomy against a defined set of US and UK regulatory publications, making edits/adjustments to the defined categories, as appropriate, to further develop the taxonomy and prepare it for publication. Once validated, the taxonomy editor will help to oversee the proper application of the taxonomy against all regulatory content in the product suite. Additional objectives include developing related taxonomies and ensuring consistency across taxonomical structures as well as accuracy and consistency in their application to content.

- Develop fluency in the regulatory themes taxonomy, its application to legal and regulatory content, and its commercial application
- Build a solid understanding of relevant content operations production processes and requirements
- Validate and develop the taxonomy to prepare it for initial launch/publication
- Ensure the accurate and consistent application of the taxonomy across all regulatory content/publications – review/audit data and resolve issues
- Ensure consistency of regulatory themes taxonomy with related taxonomies
- Monitor financial services regulatory trends and developments
- Attend and participate in team meetings, prioritize own work, participate in the employee evaluation process, and attend training sessions/classes as required
- Train support staff as required
- LL.B. or J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- Working knowledge of financial services regulation with emphasis on securities regulation
Legal or regulatory research experience of 3 years or more, financial services compliance preferred
