MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS plus one (1) year of related experience; completion/passing of CBEST exam assigned to a classroom.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid California Substitute Teaching Credential or BA plus Passage of the CBEST exam, and experience with teaching children, preferably in the area of Special Education students with ED eligibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Teacher Assistant, as an integral member of a treatment team, assists in implementation of behavioral treatment plans for assigned children and ensures that child's environment is safe and meets all standards for the program. Assists with fulfilling all licensing and agency requirements around case management and administrative functions, as required. Assist teacher in providing academic and social development guidance to students.In absence of teacher, the Teacher Assistant will act as a substitute teacher. Accept additional NPS Program responsibilities outside the classroom. Other duties as assigned.
