DonorsChoose.org engages the public in public schools by giving people a simple, accountable, and personal way to do something about educational inequity. Fast Company recently named DonorsChoose.org one of the 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World alongside Apple, Google, Netflix—the first time a charity has made the list. GOOD Magazine highlighted DonorsChoose.org as one of 30 Places We Want to Work .
Launched in 2000 and headquartered in New York City, DonorsChoose.org now has 225,000 teacher-users and 800,000 donors who have helped 6.5 million students from low-income communities receive $115 million of books, art supplies, field trips, and other resources.
The Partnerships & Business Development (PBD) team generates $24 million in classroom project funding each year, often through award-winning cause marketing campaigns with partners such as HP, Bing, Sonic Drive-In, Crate & Barrel, Groupon and American Express. To funnel these funds to classrooms as quickly and efficiently as possible, our teacher outreach team cultivates relationships with school districts, teachers associations, and other stakeholders with broad reach to teachers and schools.
As our Teacher Outreach Fellow, you will cultivate relationships and drive our outreach strategy in order to generate enough teacher requests to spend out most of the smaller, more geographically targeted grants we win, within 6 months.
Your day-to-day projects will include:
Researching school district, principal, PTA, teachers association, and charter school contacts in a community and cultivating relationships with these contacts
Drafting outreach tools to suit our various opportunities, using templates we provide.
Reporting on your progress in an excel spreadsheet or google doc updated twice weekly.
Other administrative duties that help us reach more teachers and support more schools.

Flexible and collaborative, with a high sense of possibility: able to adapt to changing priorities and apply a myriad of approaches to solve a difficult problem or reach a goal.
Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive growth plans.
