Develops, implements, and supervises the daily aspects of the classroom; maintains the classroom environment, establishes a positive and ongoing relationship with children and parents; works to maintain a positive team work relationship with peers.
Work hours 2:30 - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday
Two years experience in early childhood programs. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Early Childhood Education. Ability to: relate sensitively to children as individuals and in a group; recognize and record significant individual and group behavior; exercise judgment in handling crisis situations and to use supervision constructively; be sensitive to the needs and concerns of children and parents; work as a member of a class team and function as an active team member within the early childhood program; participate in ongoing professional development as outlined by the Mississippi State Licensing regulations.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a closely related field, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Teaching Certification from the State of Mississippi, Documentation completed for the Letter of Suitability from the State of Mississippi required within 10 days of employment. Statement of successful completion of criminal, child abuse and sex offender background checks required for continued employment.
