The Creative Lab is a small team of designers, writers, programmers, filmmakers, producers and business thinkers whose mission is to remind the world what it is they love about Google. Our job is to make Google’s magic more magical, help advance and invent Google’s future, and to communicate Google’s innovations, intentions and ideals in ways that makes us all immensely proud.
As a Team Lead in the Creative Lab you will focus on helping to solve real problems for users through putting Google products and features into their hands (and onto their laptops, tablets and phones). This may involve the creation of marketing campaigns, advertising, UX or UI, and occasionally the development of products. You will be a Chief Marketing Officer in the making: a strategic thinker with outstanding project management skills who will be expected to be fluent in the fundamentals of marketing, fully conversant in Google's products, and deeply excited by the potential of the Internet. You will be as excited by getting into the minds of users as you are identifying the magic in the products. You will be ultimately accountable for your projects working partnership with a Creative Lead--you are adept at working at 10,000 feet and in the same breath working 5 feet from the ground. In 48 hours, you will be able to quickly identify a user problem and extract the need, work with the team to define the magic and then paint a compelling vision for the team to rally around and create. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, coders, producers, copywriters, production teams, legal/business affairs, and others to own, drive and execute marketing initiatives that remind the world what it is that they love about Google. You will report to the Managing Director within Creative Lab.

Partner with an Executive Creative Director to create ideas that help shape, define and invent how the Creative Lab can leverage all the mojo of Google to make a profound impact on the world.
Develop strategy, write, and oversee briefs that inspire the creation of brilliant shiny things that solve user needs and demonstrate the magic of the products. Responsible for the direction, pace, output and overall success of projects.
Partner very closely with CL creatives and producers in developing big ideas into outputs. Build strong bridges with and across Google’s product teams, Marketing, Research & UX.

Use research and work with the Research team to maintain a deep understanding of what user needs are.

BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
10 years experience managing marketing projects with major brands and/or product development

Fascination (some might say a borderline obsession) with technology and especially with the internet
Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and partners
Proven track record of doing/making things not just leading teams that do/make things
Experience working in a creative environment (ie ad agency, design firm, product development, tech startup, etc.)
