SUMMARY: Provide leadership assistance to the Supervisor; lead designated production teams to achieve daily safety, quality and production goals; and employee management responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIES: SAFETY: Ensure a safe work environment; safe conduct of operators, check for and correct risk conditions, enforce 5S standards, properly escalate safety concernsQUALITY: Ensure quality control of processes and products; conformance to standards, proper documentation, disposition of non-conforming process/component, lead training of SOP, SWI, and Growth Chart requirements, ensure training is timely. LEADERSHIP: assign work, ensure accurate and complete data collection, facilitate shift hand off meeting, monitor rotation, assess training effectiveness, support new employee onboarding, foster open communicationPRODUCTION: manage schedule to demand, ensure on-time movement of materials and components, reconcile materials and material counts, ensure production adequate supplies and tools, ensure completion of orders, update visual factory boards, report production performance hourly and by shift, escalate poor line performance or downtime appropriatelyCONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Communicate to management any problem, idea or solution pertaining to the department; conduct root cause analysis, problem solving and engage employees in CI initiatives; participate in Kaizen as requestedQUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED required and three months related experience and training or equivalent Ability to perform routine math calculations, read and interpret documents of instruction, and complete routine reports and correspondenceExcellent verbal and written skillsStrong leadership and team building skills: Ability to work well with others and adaptable to changing conditions; demonstrates good leadership in difficult timesStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervisionStrong self-initiative and decision making skillsComputer skills (Email, Word, Excel, ERP highly desirable)DEPARTMENT: Production REPORTS TO: Production SupervisorHOURS: AM1, PM1, and PM2
