Provide oversight and supervision of assigned case management and other staff. Make use of formal and community supports on behalf of assigned children and families. Perform supervisory administrative tasks to conform to agency procedures. Develop programs and services and expanding continuum of services, where needed, in collaboration with clinical team members.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • · Oversee the quality and appropriateness of services provided by assigned agency staff, through supervisory meetings, joint interviews with clients and staff, and review of clinical record keeping of supervisees
  • · Supervise PTO requests, staff work schedules, time/mileage/expense sheets and submissions
  • · Oversee the quality of client services provided by staff and ensure that productivity standards are achieved for staff
  • · Works with assigned staff to ensure fidelity to the Southwest Network Child and Family Team process
  • · When assigned and where appropriate, act as the agency's representative/contact person in dealings with referral sources and other organizations
  • · Works with the Southwest Network and RBHA staff on discharge planning with agency clinical teams for consumers in the urgent care service centers
  • · Supervises staff training and fidelity to the Southwest Network Child and Family Team model. Collaborates with family regarding initial service and/or crisis plans
  • · Assures appropriate family transition of assigned consumers to agencies when appropriate
  • · Coordinates with Southwest Network Medical Director on service denials and completes all necessary consumer/stakeholder notifications
  • · Assures treatment progress with multiple agency involved consumers
  • · Provides information to Southwest Network staff, consumers, and stakeholders concerning community resources and linkages to other services
  • · Assists Clinical Care Director with Utilization Management and review of consumers in out of home care including acute and residential settings
  • · Prepare required reports, inclusive of timely submission of encounters in Southwest Network database
  • · Provides transportation to youth and families as appropriate utilizing employee’s personal vehicle
  • · Conducts frequent community visits, including but not limited to, private homes, educational facilities, treatment/service locations, jail/juvenile facilities, office/clinic locations, hospitals, and group homes.
  • · Adheres to minimum productivity and documentation requirements
  • · Use the consultation and collaborative team processes in providing coordination of care for consumers

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
  • · Must meet OBHL standards of BHT equivalent:
  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in a field related to behavioral health; or
  • Has a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience; or
  • Has an associate’s degree and at least two years of full time behavioral health work experience; or
  • Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; and
  • · 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health completed no more than four years before the date the individual begins providing behavioral health services and two years full-time behavioral health work experience; or
  • · Four years of full-time behavioral work experience;
  • · Must have one year of behavioral health experience facilitating Child and Family Teams
  • · Must maintain a valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card
  • · Must maintain current CPR, First Aid and CPI Certifications
  • · Supervisory experience preferred
  • · Must be 21 years of age

Knowledge and Ability Requirements
Knowledge of community based behavioral health services. Must have knowledge of spectrum of mental illnesses, DSMIV codes and descriptions, psychotropic medications and crisis intervention. Must be able to function as a member of a Clinical Treatment team in a Managed Care environment. Must maintain good consumer relationships, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to identify priorities and stay organized. Requires knowledge of and experience with administrative operations, processes and procedures, involving: (1) Superior organizational skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure; (2) Excellent problem solving skills; (3) Excellent customer services skills; (4) Detailed understanding of community resources, eligibility and entitlement funding sources.

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Some lifting may be required. Frequent and prolonged typing and frequent and prolonged operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required. Also requires occasional use of fax machines, telephones, copiers, security systems, and other office equipment. Work is performed in the community as well as an office setting. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Evening or weekend hours are required on an as needed basis.

Driving and Other Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license, have a registered and reliable vehicle that meets Arizona state law standards, and meets the insurance standards of Southwest Network. Position requires travel between Southwest Network sites as well as the community.
