: The team leader/plant liaison is responsible for coordinating shipping, receiving or repack functions and assisting supervisor/manager in ensuring facility compliance with safety, security and quality. Key responsibilities to include:
• Following customer processes and requirements
• Assisting with associate development
• Handling initial associate complaints
• Assist and support quality audits , time studies, and customer issues / complaints
• Ensuring adherence to the work area and rack / aisle maintenance / housekeeping program
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping/Receiving/Repack Coordinate all inbound and/or outbound product functions including unloading, checking, orderly stacking, storing, repackaging, order pulling, staging, checking, labeling and loading. Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with established company procedures and customer requirements. Assist with associate development in accordance to training matrixes. Assist in developing procedures and notifying management when procedures need update. Keep track of daily workloads, and efficiency
Safety Perform safety audits per operation requirements. Promote safety amongst crew. Report and correct any unsafe practices. Make sure equipment PMs are performed.
Labor management Ensure that labor requirements meet contract agreement. Assist in hiring, counseling, and evaluations. Provide good communication and motivational techniques. Ensure all company rules are followed. Provide supervisor with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands. Team lead must ensure that the crew is scheduled accordingly in order to finish the desired workload without incurring overtime and ability to measure workload between associates and hold associates accountable for actions.
Housekeeping Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Perform housekeeping, quality and safety audits per operation requirements to include the rack / aisle maintenance program.
Miscellaneous Participate in staff and customer meetings as required. Assist supervision as needed to include cycle count, inventory, quality, housekeeping, maintenance and any other assigned duties. Develop PC skills through use of e-mail, internet, C-Core, Word, Excel and performing any reports as required. Conduct yourself in a professional manner in appearance and communications at all times.
Responsibility and Authority Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system; to identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and qualitysystem; to initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels; to verify the implementation of solutions.
EDUCATION: High School degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years preferred
Experience in organizational and personnel skills is helpful. Good communication skills, written and oral, PC, leadership and planning skills are also helpful.
Other: Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation. Participate in established cross training matrix activities with the opportunity to improve their knowledge in multiple areas / departments and be able to assist as a backup associate when the need may rise.
