The Electrical Engineering Director will be responsible for the EE team. The ideal candidate must be able to operate independently with limited supervision, take a hands-on approach and maintain flexibility to assist in all areas of electrical engineering, as needed.

Role & Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct projects involving the evaluation, fabrication, modification, and design of electronic systems at the board level.

Participate in preparation of requirements documents, design verification and validation as well as technical design reviews for hardware, software and PCBs.

Responsibility for taking design from prototype to testable manufacturing qualified design.

Board-level and package-level assembly, including:
Surface mount technology

Good mechanical skills.

Excellent electronic/electrical skills as well as computer skills.

Ability to read schematics and build prototype electrical/electronic circuits.

Good soldering techniques.

Requirements:
MS in Electrical Engineering or PhD in Electrical Engineering (preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience including team lead-level positions.

Must have proven design and development experience in analog and digital circuits, ideally including experience with embedded processors and microcontrollers, mixed signal, data acquisition, low power, mobile or portable electronics.

Additional areas of expertise that are preferred include: Wireless communications, FPGA, ASIC, and signal processing.

Experience using a digital simulation environment is desirable.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable to have familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, ISO, AAMI, UL, CSA).

Expected to have experience with schematic entry – OrCAD or equivalent – and PCB layout.

Desirable to have familiarity with embedded assembly, and C programming languages.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interface with multiple stakeholders in gathering requirements

Ability to lead and manage a team of EE engineers

Ability to work and deliver under aggressive timelines

Proven track record of shipping commercial products.
