SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide direction and effective management of the Plant Industrial Engineering team while providing technical guidance to operations to maintain optimal performance and continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities include: report to Vice President of Operations Support; manage Plant Industrial Engineers; maintain Tyson Foods labor standards and performance reporting systems; analyze systems and performance and develop effective controls; interface and work with other managers, departments and engineers on implementing process improvement and innovation; Any other tasks as deemed appropriate for the successful performance of Tyson Foods, Inc.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or other technical degree combined with applicable industry experience
Experience: A minimum of 5 years applicable Industrial Engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in the food industry.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs required.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills required.
Special Skills: Possess a good working knowledge of operations, systems and process controls, continuous improvement, capable of supervising a team of Industrial Engineers on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude; demonstrated ability to manage complex projects; demonstrated ability to develop process control and optimization systems; proven ability to analyze processes and recommend quality and effective corrective actions for optimal performance. Previous experience as a leader or contributor to a business unit preferred.
Supervisory: Will supervise Plant Industrial Engineers.
