Job Description:
The Team Manager employs leadership skills, technical
skills, and manufacturing experience to increase
associate productivity, maximize equipment
functionality, and proactively manage the daily
manufacturing activities in the assigned area/ shift in
order to meet or exceed departmental OEE (Overall
Equipment Effectiveness) , Quality, and Safety Goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
Operational Duties (60%)
1. Lead a team of operators to outstanding
performance. Provide guidance, remove constraints,
and inspire performance. Be a first point of contact
for your team for timekeeping, policies,
performance, scheduling, and other
employment-related issues in order to provide
clarification, instruction, or solutions. Foster a
collaborative and supportive team environment that
reinforces the Sun Products Code of Conduct and
Company Values: People, Integrity, Passion,
Humility, and Commitment through your engagement
efforts and leading by example. Incorporate the 3E
Leadership Model of Envision, Energize and Enable to
establish effective strategies.
2. Ensure your team follows Sun Products Corporation
safety, quality, hygiene, GMP’s and environmental
standards through day-to-day interaction,
inspections, and training with your associates.
3. Maintain awareness and proactively manage all
factors contributing to KPIs (Key Performance

a. Target Production rate
b. Overall Equipment Effectiveness
c. Quality in a Box
d. Safety – Zero lost time accidents and OSHA
recordable incidents
e. Employee Development
f. Cost – Labor (to include temporary labor)
g. Changeover Time
4. Troubleshoot process upsets/ incidents, identify
root cause, identify courses of action, decide
optimal course of action and actively manage
corrective measures and/or solution implementation.
Coordinate scheduling, maintenance and production
across departments to ensure optimal KPIs.
Communicate across departments and shifts about
priorities, schedules, and ways to prevent future
equipment malfunctions. Provide a documented
diagnosis, case history and corrective actions
outcome for all incidents.
5. Use various systems and tools (SAP, Microsoft
Office, WMS) to optimize performance, communicate
status/expectations, and manage day to day
6. Identify and implement continuous improvement and
cost savings opportunities through 5S, Lean
Manufacturing, and TPM (Total Productive
Maintenance) methodologies. Actively engages in and/
or lead TPM activity in the plant to include
ensuring incidents reports (root cause analysis) are
completed per procedure.
7. Manage and participate in the MOC (management of
change) process to include training, start up
operations of the manufacturing equipment. Obtain
vendor information on equipment operational
specification and training material; coordinate the
update of systems and documentation.
Coaching/Developmental Duties (25%)
8. Increase the value-added contributions demonstrated
by your associates. Coach and develop your
associates to build their skills, knowledge and
capabilities (troubleshooting/root cause analysis,
technical, communication, process, organization, and
Administrative Duties: (10%)
9. Conduct s personnel-related functions to include
scheduling, performance evaluations, and timekeeping
Other Duties (5%)
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Daily leadership of up to 50 associates at the Bowling
Green Production Facility. Indirect leadership for other
production areas and/or plant projects as needed.

Job Requirements:Skills:
1. Must be able to effectively communicate by using
various tools and techniques: writing, reading,
typing, presenting, and creating spreadsheets, and
documents. Must be able to articulate instructions
and expectations, coach and counsel, and lead
2. Must have strong computer literacy skills/
functional ability for process management, business
performance reporting and communication (Microsoft
Office, SAP, CMMS, HMI).
3. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to
influence, engage, negotiate and motivate. Must be
able to articulate business priorities,
expectations, provide clear direction, delegate
responsibility, and objectively manage in all
situations including plant emergency situations.
4. Strong technical problem solving to include
troubleshooting activities relating to equipment
failures, process issues, quality and/or
environmental issues.
5. Must have operational knowledge of automated
process and machinery.

High School Diploma required. Business-related or
Technical degree preferred.

3-5 year(s) manufacturing management preferred.
