Registered EEG Technician (Credential) performing nerodiagnostic testing to include NCV, EMG, EEG, Evoke Potential and all other studies of patients for use in diagnosis of neurological disorders.
PERFORMS NEURODIAGNOSTIC TESTING USING PROPER TECHNIQUES FOR PLACING AND ATTACHING THE ELECTRODES AND FOR POSITIONING THE PATIENT.
*Performs diagnostic testing with patients.
*Compiles statistics of all tests performed on a monthly basis.
*Assists Neurology Physicians during procedures in lab.
*Educates procedures to patients, elicits and records medical history from patients and/or charts.
*Performs accurate neurodiagnostic recordings in a hospital setting, and is able to transport machine carefully and safely to do so.
WORKS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE EFFECTIVE FUNCTIONING OF THE DEPARTMENT.
*Keeps up with new neurodiagnostic techniques as well as procedures for other, related lab tests on a regular basis.
*Ensures that EEG testing area is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
*Performs routine maintenance on equipment, as needed, to ensure that EEG equipment is sanitary and properly functioning at all times.
*Transports patients to and from EEG department, in accordance with proper safety techniques, as needed.
*Assists with creation and updates of lab written protocols.
*Adheres to internal controls established for department.
*Review billing and patient care issues within area.
PERFORMS OTHER POSITION APPROPRIATE DUTIES AS REQUIRED IN A COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS MANNER.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
*An Associate's degree (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program preferred.
*Certified EEG Technician
*Two to three years related Neurodiagnostic experience required.
