Key Results Areas
The Technical ABAP Lead reports directly into the IT SAP CoE function and
responsible for leading a team of ABAP developers.
The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for reviewing/analyzing
complex ABAP code for performance issues and identifying/implementing
recommended improvements. In this role, the candidate will perform systems
analysis, design, and programming duties involving highly complex computer
applications, initiating corrective actions as necessary to ensure continuing
code quality and performance improvements. As a member of the Systems
Engineering Team, the candidate will participate in troubleshooting and
proactive performance monitoring. Critical components of this position include a
detailed understanding of SAP module interactions at the code level, proficiency
in SAP ABAP programming, testing, and debugging functions related to the
implementation of SAP modules, ability to analyze a diverse range of technical
issues across multiple platforms, and working closely with the Basis team to
identify potential performance issues as well as recommend and validate
Lead a group of ABAP developers.
Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in our methodologies.
Lead and/or provide SAP application development support in assigned areas.
Analyze, design, code and test break/fix requests and enhancements to SAP
Work with team members to gather and interpret functional user/system
requirements into technical design specifications.
Develop technical system specifications for SAP components.
Design SAP components to technical programming standards.
Lead and/or provide primary support toward installation of application
releases into production.
Skills and Knowledge
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience developing/reviewing/analyzing
complex ABAP code, and identifying/implementing recommended improvements
Implementation experience with a minimum of 2 full life-cycle implementations;
experience with large scale and complex SAP environments preferred.
Thorough understanding of SAP Portal, BI, PI, ECC connections and interactions
Experience creating prototypes with and around SAP modules and functions
Experience with Business Objects, SAP NetWeaver 7.01 or newer, working with
these SAP Modules: MM, SD, FI, CO, PP/C, PM, PS, QM, WM.
Experience with ALE/IDOC, EDI, RFC, tRFC, Business Server Pages (BSP). Web
Studio, developed Web transactions.
Experience with SAP DATA DICTIONARY, SAPScript, and SMARTFORMS
Experience with ABAP, JAVA, C/C# program interactions
Extensive experience with Batch input - used when a BAPI or IDOC is not
Experience with performance and monitoring tools (ABAP Runtime Analysis,
System Log, Dump Analysis) with a minimum of 1 year of SAP Basis Administration
Experience with Solution Manager 7.01 system monitoring and E2E diagnostics
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Information Systems or related field; Masters degree or
MBA is highly desirable; equivalent experience will be evaluated.
Five or more years of SAP experience.
Relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
