The AppNexus Technical Account Manager (TAM) - Bidders, is uniquely responsible for our integrations with all major Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) in the AdTech industry.
Unlike buyers who use AppNexus to determine their bid for an ad impression, these external DSPs have built their own proprietary realt-time auction technology and integrate with AppNexus for access to supply at scale. Through integrations with AppNexus's real time APIs, these demand-side clients spend at staggering volumes, and represent a significant amount of overall AppNexus revenue.
The Bidder TAM must holistically understand these different integrations, at times custom in design, so as to consult with our partners on the business we do together. This role requires deep product expertise, highly responsive and professional communication, technical problem solving, and deep analytical thinking.
Some common Bidder TAM engagements include:
Project managing the onboarding of new bidder integrations
Consulting with clients' technical teams regarding optimal design of the integration
Investigating technical issues and driving them to resolution (this can involve client-facing problems as well as internal issues that require the Bidder TAM's expertise)
Teaming with Account Management for client meetings, calls and Quarterly Business Reviews. This includes cultivating our tier 1 partnerships through outings to entertainment and dining.
Working closely with product to determine prioritization of changes and new features that are built into bidder integrations
Partnering with other the Technical Account Management team to further refine both internal and external documentation
Training partners how best to leverage our system as a way to grow our business together
The Bidder TAM works closely with business counterparts in the Account Management organization, teaming together to drive the success of our major demand partnerships. Bidder TAMs, along with the Supply and Data Provider Technical Account Management teams, make up the Platform Integrations group within the Global Services organization.
