The IT Technical Applications Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting applications that are used to enable our engineering teams along with those applications that are technical in nature. This also includes our SharePoint sites (intranet, client portal) and key data repositories.

This role is part of the IT Applications team that currently has two staff members and part of the overall IT team which has 11 staff members. This individual is able to shift gears quickly to deal with various types of issues that occur and is empowered to help improve associated technologies, processes and data flows.

• Bachelor's Degree in area of specialty with 3 to 5 years of experience, or 5 to 7 years of experience in the field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as IT Systems Analyst, IT Business Analyst or similar position
• Significant experience in implementing applications for mid-sized companies, including
• Intranet and collaboration sites
• File and data management applications
• Experience in training end users and developing training documentation
• Experience in working with software vendors on contracts, pricing and support
Preferred Qualifications or Expertise
• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint 2010/2013
• Applications used by architectural and engineering teams or similar technologies (AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.)
• Microsoft SQL Server databases and corresponding technologies, including integration and data migration
• Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate with our engineers and field staff to understand their issues and translate that into IT-related solutions or improvements
• Curiosity and an eagerness to learn - a demonstrated inclination toward wanting to know:
• How things work
• Why they work the way they do
• How to get things to work correctly
• Persistence and balance
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• The persistence to pursue problems until they are solved, but also the balance and good judgment to know when to stop and ask questions
• Must be able to stop and think (or ask) about whether something should be done before focusing on finding a solution 

• Not territorial about sharing knowledge or insecure about his/her position; understands that transferring knowledge frees one up to do other projects
• Good written and verbal communication skills
Work Conditions: 
Sitting for extended periods of time 
Available to participate in an On-Call support schedule 
Occasional travel to our remote offices across the US
Responsibilities
• Define the functional requirements, conduct detailed analysis of processes and act as a liaison between project sponsors and the IT team
• Act as IT lead for engineering applications initiatives, including vendor selection, license management, maintenance and upgrades
• Define processes and procedures for maintaining data in a high-availability environment, including monitoring, backups, business continuity and performance monitoring
• Provide support for engineering applications across the organization
• Partner with all departments to provide project leadership, application-specific subject matter expertise, technical insight and application roadmap guidance as they relate to H&A's internal operations.
