Position Purpose

This position is responsible for cohesive functional integration of technical CA-MMIS Health Enterprise components. The Architect is responsible to ensure that all CA-MMIS Health Enterprise technical requirements are met for the Medi-Cal Program. This position will directly work under and report under the Lead Technical Architect and Technical Director.

Tasks and Responsibilities

May perform one or more of the following:
  • Understand Legacy and System Replacement Architecture and ensure integration is seamless.
  • Incorporate security requirements such as SSO, HIPAA, Logging, Auditing requirements. Liaisons among functional, technical, and product teams
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in SOA and ESB
  • Provides support to the functional teams in performance of all design deliverables and change control processes in order to ensure a cohesive solution that embraces product-based delivery and minimizes unnecessary custom development
  • Perform/Lead Proof of Concept tasks
  • Assists in tailoring of processes and procedures related to User Interface and Data model requirements collection and documentation
  • Supports Functional Teams to complete technical portions of meeting materials for review with internal Xerox Team and State. Assists as needed on technical aspects of any deliverables
  • Ensures applicable documentation is updated according to HIPAA, ADA, State and CA-MMIS contract standards
  • Supports construction efforts as liaison to Architecture, Configuration Management, Release Management and Test Teams
  • Assists/Mentors team responsible for configuration resource bundles
  • Participates in walkthroughs and reviews of system test plans and UAT
  • Assists in completing Architecture related documents and deliverables
  • Completes other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or equivalent work experience is required
  • Minimum of five years experience with Design, Development and Implementation software implementation
  • Minimum two years experience developing project work plan documentation
  • Previous experience with one or more Medicaid implementations in a project elapsing more than twelve month's timeframe
  • Minimum eight years experience in Medicaid application software development or operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or operational management experience in multiple operational functional areas of Medicaid
  • Proven experience with problem solving strategies
  • Experience that demonstrates high degree of self-direction, initiative and motivation; sense of urgency to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills user interface applications
  • Minimum two years leadership experience
  • Implementation experience with very large application software testing in a project elapsing more than twelve months timeframe
  • Experience that demonstrates high degree of self-direction, initiative and motivation; sense of urgency to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent oral, written, and team communication skills
  • Desired: Experience in IBM Suite of Products such as WEBSEAL, TIM/TAM, WebSphere Process Server, WebSphere Portal Server, Web Services
