Technical Client Solutions Architect / Engineer

We're looking for highly motivated and entrepreneurial Technical Client Solutions Architect / Engineers focused on building and sustaining customer relationships while driving adoption of our platform by customers. The SE works very closely with sales to build long-term business relationships within “named” accounts, and then leads the customer onboarding process. A highly visible role, you will be responsible and have impact for closing transactions.

Play a Critical Role:
Become an expert in our product, the market and our competition

Work with Sales and the Product team to qualify and prioritize leads

Understand the customer's high-level business challenges and match Altiscale solutions to customer's business and technical requirements

Prepare proposals and respond to RFIs/RFPs by studying related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects, and other technical personnel.

Present Altiscale value proposition, product, vision, strategy and roadmap to executives and technical management

Build long-term business relationships and become a trusted advisor within named accounts

Represent Altiscale at Industry events; maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Mentor other Technical Solution Engineers

Onboard Customers

Manage customers through evaluation and into production on the Altiscale service

Identify short-term and long-term issues that must be addressed; recommend options and courses of action; implement directives

Develop customer's staff by providing technical information and training.

Identify new customer projects for Altiscale solutions

Manage ongoing technical needs of strategic customers

Generate content and processes supporting customer onboarding

Develop evaluation guides, knowledge base articles and other documents intended to introduce new users to the Altiscale offering

Develop whitepapers and case studies and contrast our offering with others in the market

Prepare Sales Engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends

Desired Skills & Experience

Must have experience with several Hadoop ecosystem tools; for example Hive, Pig, R, Kettle, Hbase, Spark/Shark, Impala, HUE, Cascading, Solr, Mahout, Avro, RedShift

Must have start up DNA - experienced and comfortable with a lean, fast-paced environment. .. needing high energy, enthusiasm and initiative

Strong customer facing and relationship building skills. Ability to quickly understand technical concepts and architectural scenarios, and explain them to others concisely, in words and images. Have a knack to establish, influence and manage trusted relationships with senior technical leaders within companies

Exceptional organizational, project management and leadership skills, comfortable interacting with all levels of employees; must be able to champion an opinion or push back when necessary

Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting. Solid project management skills and excel at managing multiple projects and priorities while remaining focused on quality and deadlines

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to see and present "the big picture" and offer solutions to make it better

Willing to travel as necessary

Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
