Position Summary:

Contributes to the successful implementation of OneCIS Insurance Co. Home Office ASME Technical and Special Services Program. Assisting BVUK Level 3 (Engineer) with PED Technical file reviews, WPS/PQR and PQR writing, reviews and approvals, performing PED Material Supplier Certification Audits, assisting the Technical Department with supervision and training for other special services such as IBR, Japanese MOL, DOT, TPED, ADR/RID, IMDG and other Foreign Codes support with the BV Network for OneCIS clients. Requires strong ASME Non Nuclear working knowledge and background.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages Technical Projects including performing Technical File Reviews for all of the Programs listed in Position Summary. Responsible for proper archiving of records associated with projects and writing summary reports for client and file.
  • Responsible for properly documenting, as required, for PED, IBR, Japanese MOL, DOT, TPED, ADR/RID, IMDG and other Foreign Codes inspection. Develop Inspection Checklists and Job instructions for Codes serviced in order to Quality Assurance aspects of all deliverables internal and external. May assign and supervise Level II PED personnel including review of PED Final Inspection Checklists, WPS’s/PQR’s & WPQ’s and all required documentation.
  • Provides on-the-job training for authorized inspectors, participates in seminars, assists in the implementation of formal training programs, and provides field offices with operational, technical, and staff development support for the Technical and Special Services Program as required.
  • Assist all Regions with Technical issues and any other special projects assigned.
  • Maintains an awareness of applicable regulatory and technological developments. Prepare and disseminate directives and procedures, subject to management review, to ensure proper application of inspection requirements for OneCIS field staff to maintain operations.
  • Perform PED Technical File Reviews, Category III & IV, under the Supervision of a Level III, with eventual submittal for Level III in order to perform Design Reviews as the level III.
  • Provide technical content for ASME Synopsis and Technical Bulletins.
  • Required Skills Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level: Applies industry knowledge, technical skill and sound business practices to decision making.

    Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

    Must maintain an awareness of current inspection and auditing methods and techniques; interpreting and incorporating applicable regulatory and technological developments into OneCIS operations.

    Must have the ability to interact with Management, customers and staff.

    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Must be extremely computer literate in Word, Excel, Power Point, and other software that is oriented to Engineering proficiency and enhances the Technical and Special Services program.

    May require field inspection activity including climbing into confined spaces, ladders, stairs, kneeling, crawling, and other physical exertion.

    Required Experience Education and Experience Preferred:

    Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred. Experience with ASME Non Nuclear Code as a minimum and familiarity with Foreign Codes a plus (Including PED, DOT, IBR) .

    5-10 years of experience with design of pressure equipment and inspection activity preferred.

    National Board Commission with A, endorsement preferred.

    2-3 years experience with PED preferred as a minimum
