Red Oak Consulting, a division of ARCADIS, is seeking a candidate for a part time summer internship. The Tallahassee office primarily focuses on hazard mitigation and emergency management planning.
The candidate should have solid working knowledge of excel, wiki editing and navigating, and GIS (HAZUS knowledge a plus). They must have strong research, writing and interpersonal skills and be able to read, understand and interpret legislation. He/she must have the ability to work independently and sometimes with limited direction. Someone who can jump in with a short learning curve. Activities may include safe growth analysis, hazard mitigation planning for communities and critical infrastructure, grant writing, research regarding climate change and sea level rise, as well as funding opportunity research. We need excellent research and writing skills, as well as good technical skills. If your favorite classes were plan implementation, multiple alternatives evaluation, growth management, and other technical or policy based courses, this internship is probably right up your alley.
Minimum Years of Experience
Pursuing a BS or MS in Planning.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Pursuing a MS in Urban Planning or related degree.
