Position Description
We are looking for a highly effective Technical Lead Consultant to join our team. This person will be required to offer solutions to problems of diverse scope and exercise judgment within defined practices and policies. This key member of our team contributes to the entire software development lifecycle including analysis, requirement specification, use case and data modeling, development, testing, and implementation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides oversight, planning, and technical guidance to ensure successful delivery of software projects
Assists Acquity Shared Services leadership in building and maintaining the local Ottawa team through interviewing and mentoring
Coordinates with Shared Services leadership to ensure team is operating in an efficient and sustainable manner
Participates in the software design, software development, and package implementation using standard platforms such as CQ, hybris and ATG
Interfaces with engagement and project managers on several concurrent projects to ensure proper adherence to SDLC
Ensures software developed is held to Acquity Group quality standards through code and design reviews
Qualifications
8+ years total software development experience
6+ years hands on Java software development experience
2+ years of previous experience as a lead developer or manager of a small team
Prior experience managing and/or being managed by remote teams/offices
Prior experience in a consulting environment is a plus
Prior offshore software development management is a plus
Formal project management experience is a plus
Required Skills
Ability and willingness to split time between management and hands-on software design, development, and review is a must
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to deliver constructive feedback and the ability to lead by example
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Experience working with packaged solutions such as CQ, hybris and ATG is a plus
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or related field
Travel
50% more or less depending on project; candidate should be comfortable with travel and overtime as client commitment requires.
