The senior allocation analyst is a critical member of the planning team. Working at the intersection of merchant, store, and supply chain operations, the senior allocation analyst is responsible for maintain appropriate inventory levels in stores (including bn.com) to support sales, promotions, visual merchandising, and local trends. Although the senior allocation analyst works with products, the focus is on the science of distribution, replenishment, capacity, and store clustering. The senior allocation analyst takes the product the merchants have invested in and creates as well as maintains the quantitative relationship between those products and our stores.
In addition to the above core allocation functions, the senior allocation analyst is responsible for developing replenishment algorithms and business logic to support multiple product verticals. She or he will be able to help train and develop allocation analysts; in this role, the senior allocation analyst should be well-versed in allocation best practices and comfortable with dealing with a wide range of products, such as books, gifts, toys, and games.

What You Do:
Provide management leadership in the design and development of technology-enabled products and services within a computing systems environment.
Provide solutions to technical issues, meet development schedules, and ensure the delivered solution meets the technical specifications and design requirements.
Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in Object-Oriented Programming & Design concepts and methodologies.
Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in one of the following or both:
Microsoft .NET platform (C# and/or VB.NET languages, .NET Framework Base Class Libraries, CLR); plus experience with two or more ancillary .NET technologies such as: ADO.NET, ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, WF, Microsoft Enterprise Library, Entity Framework or LINQ)
Java Development Platform 5.0 or later ; J2SE is fine but J2EE is a plus
Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience with at least one major commercial Relational Database Management System (MS SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, etc.) .
Minimum of 2 years experience with W eb- and SOA-related technologies: HTML, XML, XML Schema, XPath, XQuery, WS-* standards (especially WSDL) .
S trong problem - solving skills with the ability to clearly articulate and share solutions with fellow team members.
A deep understanding on the theory and workings of Relational Database Systems .
Advanced knowledge of the SQL query language, including query tuning and performance optimization.
Proven experience of refactoring software and databases .
Experience with the full software development life cycle, including design, testing, deployment and documentation activities .
Experience writing functional and technical specifications ; technical documentation is a plus .
